How we select our staff
Here at Muswell Hill Preschool, we are dedicated to delivering the highest possible level of care to every child.
For us, this has always been our main priority, which is why we take our recruitment process extremely seriously, especially when it comes to finding staff that not only embody our core values, but are also passionate about working with children.
After all… to work in this type of environment it’s essential that you love what you do if you stand any chance of building a good rapport with the children in your care.
And although we only ever employ staff with the relevant skills and qualifications, and only consider applicants who are qualified at Level 3 or above, we consider passion just as important as qualifications, as we believe that this cannot be taught.
We look for individuals who genuinely care for the children they are working with when it comes to expanding our team of skilled, experienced and talented individuals.
The Muswell Preschool recruitment process
To ensure that we only employ the most passionate, dedicated, and qualified staff, we have a comprehensive recruitment process, which includes:
- Pre-interview screening
- In person interviews
- Trial sessions working with children in our nurseries
- DBS checking
- Reference checks
Once an employee has joined our team, we provide on-going support and mentoring to ensure that they not only meet our impeccably high standards, but also that they settle in quickly and enjoy their new role.
A six month probationary period
When we find great people to join our team, we want to keep them! With this in mind, we believe in a six-month probationary period in order to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of our policies and procedures, and that they’re fully equipped to implement our unique Wandsworth Preschool curriculum.
On-going training and support
Continuous development and improvement is extremely important to us here at Muswell Hill Preschool and we are committed to helping every member of our team to realise their full potential. We believe that this approach helps all staff members to excel in their role, learn and grow.
Following their probation period, we continue to work closely with our staff, providing on-going training, support, and mentoring to help them to develop further and achieve their own personal goals.
We want every member of our team to feel inspired to learn and grow within our preschool.
