Healthy Eating- Fish Pie Recipe
As part of “Healthy Eating Week” we thought it might be good to share one of the children’s favourite meals recipes with you so you can make it at home. Its perfect for a winters day- warming tasty and nutritious and is just as nice in the summer.
We would love it if you shared your favourite children’s meal recipe with us together with a photograph and we will share it with our families
500g mixed fish (usually salmon and cod)
300ml white sauce (see general recipes)
1 tsp dried parsley
1 tsp garlic granules
1 tsp mixed herbs
700 g white potatoes (Maris Piper), peeled and diced.
2-3 tsp dairy free spread
Start by making the mash potato. Boil the potatoes in a pan of boiling water, once tender drain and put back into the pan. Add the dairy free spread and mash until smooth. Set aside and allow to cool.
While the potatoes are cooking prepare the fish. Make sure that all skin and bones are removed from the fish, once this has been done cut into bitesize pieces. Transfer into ovenproof dishes.
Add the peas into the dishes and pour over the sauce, mix well. Top the fish mix with the mashed potato.
Bake in the oven at 180 C (350F) until the top is golden.
