Hand Puppets inspired by Paul Klee

We have just completed a project inspired by Paul Klee which involved making hand puppets. Our children had been working in 2D and we had started to talk about and interact with 3D objects. This project gave us a great starting point for the creation of 3 D puppets and the opportunity to introduce the children to the medium of Mod Roc.

The intentions of this project included helping children to understand the nature of 3D but also included introducing the children to the works of Paul Klee, promoting group collaboration and team work, engaging fine motor skills in a variety of ways, experimenting with the changes water can bring to materials and changes to materials in general to name just a few. The images below illustrate the implementation of some of these earning intentions.

The video below tells our children’s journey through this exciting project. Please take a moment to enjoy the video.
